I've been looking at brake upgrades. I'm at 40K and I will doing brakes in the spring. I plan to buy rotors and pads.

I'm looking for experienced suggestions on brands / kits. There are many out there. Slotted, drilled, both... pad type. Any help is appreciated. I do a lot of driving (obviously) and I want a better braking system.

I just installed the same brake pads as the first link you posted (PowerStop Z23) but with blank Centric rotors from Rockauto.com. I vote you do the same because there's no need for slotted/drilled rotors on a DD other than looks and you can save a few pennies.

I also bought the blank Centric rotors as well as the OEM semi-metallic brake pads (PP version) from rock auto.com low cost and they work very well.

Do not, I repeat DO NOT waste your money on that powerstop kit! It is terrible! I've had that kit on my car for about 7 or 8 months now, they are extremely loud from a high speed stop, they have no bite, and they are already warping!

Thanks! I plan to use the earlier suggested base rotors from rockauto. Are you running the Z23 pads?
