Hello fellow owners and enthusiasts!

I'm excited to join your ranks, I test drove a SHO on a whim 3-4 years ago just see how it stacked up against the car that I thought I really wanted, a 300C AWD. I just remember how quick it was, the Hemi felt faster over the long run but I never forgot the feeling of acceleration that I got from the SHO.

Fast forward to a few months ago and the car I've been driving for the past 10 years finally needs to be retired. As I live in Colorado, I had decided that I wanted a luxurious type sedan with AWD. So my search began and the obvious candidates were all being tested, G37X, 300AWD, 5 Series Xdrive, Acura TL SH-AWD, Audi A8, even a Mazda Speed6 and I had narrowed things down to either the G37X which handled nicely but felt cramped(I'm 6"2) the Mazda Speed6 which I couldn't even find an example of nearby to test drive or the Acura TL SH-AWD which had some good zip and handled well but was soo low to the ground it was tough to get in with out laying down.

Then one day as I'm passing the dealerships, wistfully hoping for something faster, better equipped that a guy of my size can actually get into comfortably, I notice a hulking, black mass. It's a 2010 SHO with 63K, the interior looks like it was never sat in, the engine pulls hard, smooth and fiercely, the transmission doesn't hunt for gears and shifts with authority. One test drive had me grinning like a simpleton but I wasn't sure yet. Jumped online, proceeded to read as much as I could, owner reviews, official reviews, upgrade reviews, forum information, etc. Then one night as I'm driving past the dealership I see someone else having the nerve to look at MY SHO, that was it, I pulled in right away and the next day it was mine! Has been perfect so far, took it out east for some high speed runs yesterday, made it up to 125mph with zero drama, felt like 80. Hahaha I love this thing!

Welcome, COKyle, congrats on snagging this beautiful '10 SHO! Great to hear it drives so well, always a good thing :)

It will do well in the snow with all-seasons, but do you get DEEP snow where you are at? If so, think about adding a set of winter wheels/snow tires to your wishlist. Sometimes TireRack will have 18" wheel/tire combos on sale. Another thing to upgrade would be brake pads and/or rotors (aftermarket).

Are you looking to do any mods, or keep it stock?

Thanks for the welcome and the advice! The snow in Colorado doesn't get too deep, it's usually a snow/melt type cycle so most of what we see on a daily is slush or hard packed snow. I've got the performance package so I've got the 20" wheels, any good suggestions for a good all season tire?

I'd love to all sorts of mods, so
I'm open to all suggestions. Intake, tuning, cat back exhaust, spark plugs? What have you guys found that squeezes the most power out of that Ecoboost?
What I really need to know is how to keep it under 100mph ;)

Welcome aboard, and thanks for the nice stories.

For go fast parts...I'd start with a 3bar tune, lower tstat, and a CAI for turbo sound...no real performance gain with the CAI

Things to maintenance right away...PTU fluid should be changed every 15-20k and you'll be needing new plugs...SP 534's gapped at .030 tuned

Good luck, and keep us posted

I hesitate to recommend any Michelin tires because of the relatively negative experience SHO owners have had with the OEMs, so won't go there. A list of recommended tires from Tire Rack:

Continental DWS, Pirelli Cinturato P7, General G-MAX are some of the most like tires among Gen 4 owners for all-season performance. If you anticipate frequent pedal to the metal action, the DWS might be just the ticket for you.

Install a parachute that opens at 100 mph, or a rocket booster affixed to the front set to fire at 100 mph :nut:

Awesome. I just snagged a black 10' about a month ago with 78k. Checked the dealer service history in OASIS at work b4 purchase. List of warrant replaced parts including the ptu @ 55k. And previous owner changed the oil at the dealer every 6 to 7k and transflush @50k. So I feel good abt the purchase. Congrats! Now I just need my 3bar map, plugs and Livernois tune.

Although I have had pretty good luck with Michelins in the past I hear some of the hesitation on Primacy MXM4's on current SHO's. I am on the OEM set and although not needed to be changed anytime soon I will monitor when it gets closer. I can speak from experience and highly endorse the Pirelli Cintaurato P7's quiet, smooth, good transportation. I had them for half a winter on my 2013 SEL and would strongly consider if I had occasion to change.
