Back in Michigan ... again.
I dunno Tom, looking at your slips I almost have to say that 14.23 might be a misprint or a timing error. To have that kind of ET in the 1/4 I think a sub 9.5 @ more than 75 in the 1/8 would be necessary. That is, unless you're waiting until half track to hit the nitrous!

Without the slip showing the proper trap speed it's hard to know just what was going on at the other end. Not trying to be the buzzkill; when I see the 14.60 slip all those numbers look spot on. But comparing the 14.60 to the 14.23, the times through the 1/8 are extremely similar yet the 1/4 time is WAY different. I just don't see where an extra four tenths would come from on the last half of the track to get from 14.60 to 14.23--you'd need some CRAZY extra power to make that happen!

I'm plowing through all the videos now. I've got one of that run, when he ran Matt in the SRT4. He was pulling him through the 1/8, and Matt, with his 103-105 traps and mid-high 13s, just didn't make any headway against Tom, and he almost got 'em. Look at Tom's 1/8 speed on the one. One of his best (74+), if not his best. Compare the run to Matt's run against him where Matt pulled a 13.82. The "Win" wasn't clear to us (at mid-track) until the Win light came on.

I'll mark that video "special" after I get through 'em all tomorrow.

I don't want to forget to give Ron a BIG THANKS for organizing this shindig. Without his persistence it never would have happened. So Thanks Ron!

Buzzkill!
Conspiracy keanu

A squirrel ran halfway across the track at an angle - past the timing device - saw me coming and ran back JUST in time.

Got the pics & videos from Saturday loaded up:

http://s1015.photobucket.com/albums/af271/rsporter50/Lapeer Dragway 4-21-2012/

Pics from the morning gathering at my house, and some at the track.

Videos have “Flipper Burning”….not really, Chris blew a heater hose, and it looks like just after he passed me. Has Tom’s 14.23 run (decide for yourself against the SRT4) and a 14.60 run. Buncha runs by Tony & Josh, including a few OOPS by Tony!!

Plus the other folks and their vehicles, including a coupla nice cars that weren’t with us. Vince and his son Matt running with Vince’s ’04 Mach 1 and Matt’s SRT4. Jason’s behemoth 3500 crew cab Duramax with a long bed (probably 8500#s easy) with lotsa mods & tuning issues. An old Falcon, as well as a nice, previous-Gen V6 Mustang automatic convertible. It has a Whipple and DRs, runs 12.96 at 105.

And I was testing my new GoPro. Had a few runs with me against Tom & Jason’s truck, and the last couple TEST videos can be ignored, just me trying it out.
