Default what should you expect for $4500 SHO?
torn mounts, rotted strut toppers blown ball joints.......... the list is longer but the most important thing for 4500 your sho will not have is reverse (that is optional equipment on some models.
but seriously i can figure this out. The car and engine shake violently in reverse. as stated in my other post

Yes, there are smears of Black RTV all over the chassis. On the door frame, around the trunk edge... and those are just the spots we've found so far.

Mine used to do that too. Put in some really stiff mounts and solved the issue.

Kinda reminds me of Harry Fell's Gen3 SHO with the lights all over it. IIRC, he was a fire dept guy too, though I can't recall what area of the country he was from. I wanna say New England somewheres.
The lights look good, by the way. Looks like an Emerald Green, right? I kept imagining it was a Moonlight Blue, because that would just be sooooo sexy....

1994 Ford Taurus SHO 5-speed, 3.2L mtx, modded, (trades possible)
________________________________________
Well guys here it is, I REALLY hate to do this, more then I can even express, but tough times call for desperate measures, and that means my beloved 94 must go (and I DO want her back one day, so by all means feel free to keep my contact info)
I'm going to start off by saying the pictures of this car are terrible and don't do it justice, I had to take them in the freezing cold and with the car not as clean as it should be. I'll get some better ones up if it ever stops snowing here.
TRADES are possible if you happen to have a 1995 Taurus SE, 92-95 SLO’s work too and I’ve always wanted a V8 SHO, so that’s not out of the question either, but I'll keep an open mind so let me know what you've got (something cheaper than my car, the reason I’m selling is to pay bills).
For starters, this car is in exceptional condition with NO RUST, all the brake lines, fuel lines, drip rails etc. are VERY clean, and any little spot that looked like it needed some coating, as well as all the hard lines, got undercoated while the car was on a lift to prevent future rust. You will be VERY hard pressed to find a black interior 3.2L MTX SHO in this condition, with the maintenance records that follow this car (I have piles of receipts). Its run synthetic brake fluid its entire life, and has had ALL the fluids changed religiously, and is currently running Amsoil synthetic engine oil. There is a heck of a story behind this car, and it’s very well known in the tri state area. If you’re a serious buyer, the whole history will be told in person if you’re interested to hear, some of you probably remember what this car used to be.
The paint is excellent, probably an 8 out of 10 and the interior is a 9 out of 10. The car was garaged kept for a good portion of its life and now has 137k miles on the body with just about 107k on the engine. I have installed a very strong set of springs (I forget what the numbers were, but they were stiffer then most) and put on different sway bars that measure 20mm up front, and 23mm in the rear.
I have loved every one of the 5 sho’s I have owned, but I have to say this is certainly one of my favorites. I have taken care of every car I own as if it were my child, and I really do not want to sell this car, but I have 2 of them currently and I am looking to get into something different for at least part of the year (winter... this car is just too nice to use in salt. Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions you may have and I will get back to you ASAP. I am still daily driving this car, so the mileage will continue to go up until it’s sold. It also has an inspection sticker good until November of 2011.
The maintenance I can remember that was done within the past 6 months or 5k miles:
*3.2L engine swapped in
*60k performed very recently as preventative maintenance:
- *New front main seal
- *New rear main seal
- *All new cam seals
- *New crank sensor
- *New timing belt
- *Valve lash adjusted
- *New water pump
- *New valve cover gaskets (yes, the plug wells are bone dry)
- *Newer Plug wires installed (probably about 30k on them, they stock motocraft replacements)
- *New Spark plugs
- *New oil pan seal
-*Intake cleaned
-*Filters installed to keep the intake clean for a long time (can be seen in the pictures across the valve cover crank case vent tube)
*NEW ROD BEARINGS, yes they have been changed, nothing was wrong, the engine wasn't knocking or any nasty stuff like that, just preventative
*All brake fluid has been flushed and replaced with Prestone synthetic fluid
*All power steering fluid has been flushed and replaced with Castrol ATF
*MTX trans has been pulled apart, cleaned, had the diff WELDED and was then refilled with Castrol ATF. It is the best shifting mtx sho transmission I have ever felt (much better than my other SHO) in all my years in the sho game. Believe me when I say it, it is a very nice transmission and I hate to get rid of the car because of it. I also put a drain plug in it when I had it all apart, so you can continue the maintenance on her. It was welded by a friend of a friend who works at 3 mile island (no jokes please haha), this guy is GOOD, you won’t find better welds anywhere else on the planet.
*New Heater Core
*Blend door motor taken apart and greased
*New Clutch release cable
*New Front brake rotors and pads
*New sunroof seal (now obsolete through Ford, and NOT cheap)
*All coolant has been flushed and replaced
*New REV B Throw out bearing
*Rear Monroe Sensa-Trac struts installed, mileage on them was unknown, they were however still very strong
*4 Wheel alignment with brand new (installed at 135,500) Z rated 225/50VR16 BFGoodrich Traction T/A’s (not cheap tires folks) (all this being said, take a car that just had front suspension work, don’t get it aligned for 1500 miles, and you’ll wear the inner edges of your new tires like they had 20000 miles on them. So really only 2 of these things are new)
*Newer low mileage strut mounts and brand new strut bearings
*New alternator (yes I have done a gen 1 alternator conversion on this car… and for those of you who don’t know, gen 1 alternators take less hp to spin)
*Pair of New straight through turbo Mufflers (yes, this car has a nice rumble)
*Set of snow tires mounted on SHO wheels will be included as well. I have never used them on this car, they were for one of my old atx sho’s that was quite the beater, so I didn’t care so much about salt, but I have no use for them anymore so if you would like them I will include them with the car. The one pair has about 95% tread remaining (goodyear ultra grips), and the other has about 40% remaining, Bridgestone Blizzaks).
MODS:
*Stage 1 SHOSHOP Jr. High revs clutch
*Welded Diff done by a professional (to prevent the infamous ejected diff pin)
*Welded subframe to prevent a broken subframe
*96 front brake upgrade with ceramic pads
*Gen 1 vented rear brake upgrade with brembo rotors and hawk pads
*Cup style Aluminum subframe bushings
*Stainless steel braded brake lines
*Under drive pulleys
*Ported intake runners (I have a set of even further ported runners that I MIGHT include with the car if interested)
*Gasket matched ported heads
*Big Bore 40mm Secondary Butterfly’s
*A/C delete (could work again with new lines and compressor)
*K&N Drop in air filter
*Aftermarket high flow y-pipe
*Dynomax catback
*22% Window tint
*Alpine headunit (I have a Memphis amp and a 2000 watt competition lanzar 15” sub as well, but this will not be included with the car, it will be extra if you want to keep it, but I am willing to sell it with the car for an extra cost.)
*Black interior swap – this interior in VERY nice shape, it is full leather and has been VERY well maintained (I polish it constantly). It has the updated 93 center console, and I know you guys know how hard they are to find.
There ARE more things I replaced and redone, but I have done so much to this car this is really all I can remember right now that was recent
The taillights are lightly tinted, and the headlights/sidemarkes have a smoked type look to them without effecting light output and it was very very time consuming to do this (I'll explain in person how it was done)
Now the bad as some of you may remember: A few thousand miles ago the converters went bad, and some got sucked up into the cylinders, I immediately noticed because the cats started to make noise. I had the engine flushed 3 times, and was told to put in a Rislone Engine restore oil additive. Since this, I have had zero problems with the car and the compression on every cylinder reads 210 PSI to this day (I am willing to run a compression test on site if you would like). The car still pulls VERY hard and is very fast, so I do not believe there is any crazy engine damage or anything. The car also needs a transmission mount, as it is starting to tear, and it shakes the car in reverse when you back up on occasion. I have one that goes with the car to replace it with, I just haven’t gotten the time to change it. It doesn’t affect the car in forward gears at all, so it was never a huge concern for me as I really never back the car up. I am going to try to get this done if I get a halfway decent day. Anyway I rambled enough, any questions, just ask
$4800 is what I want, but I am negotiable depending on what you take. For example, decide you don't want the extra set of wheel/snow's. Or you want to bring your own wheel/tire combo to throw on and let me keep the set on it; we might be able to work something out.
Nick

A thread is more easily read than the contents of said thread highlighted, cut and pasted into a new thread with no easily readable way of discerning post from post.
Not trying to give you balls, but most will see the mess above and simply move on instead of trying to figure out what is pasted, where it starts, who psted what part, and in what order.
