Ok heres the deal. Once again i'm a new SHO owner. Now the new problem is when driving it harder than normal a very obvious oil burning smell is strong and smoke from under the hood. When driving normal it doesnt happen. The guy I bought it from told me he just changed the oil pan gasket because of an oil leak. I've searched many threads about this and it looks like the likely culprit is one of the sensors has a leak where it threads in. But again i'm new to this so I just need to know the best place to start.

Check your front main seal. Look for oil gunk on the front of the oil pan. My 95 has this issue and its from a bad front main seal.

Its a 3 hour job at the most. Remove end tank off the intake, serp belt, crank pulley, passenger tire and fender liner... Pull the old seal out and replace with new.

Doesnt sound too bad. I'm going to find the leak tomorrow and if thats what's causing it then i'll get on it. I'm just worried about it igniting. Thanks for the help.

there is more to it than just that,3 hours would be for someone who has done this job before.
you also have to remove timing covers, timing belt and sprocket from the crank shaft to reach the front main.

good time for a total front 60K

I'm just worried about it igniting.
the oil? that would be a little hard to do.

As far as the oil igniting comment the reason I say that is because my sister had an 80's lebaron with a severe valve cover gasket leak and the oil ignited one day when she stopped. Now thats the only time ive seen it happen but its still possible.
