I guess other people are learning from all the messages people have been trying to make for zach about new threads. I'm not saying you are upset Pheen, but I don't really see why people get in a huff about old threads, it's still the same great information.

The best way to fix the pinch bolt issue is to drill through it with a pilot drill, then open it up with a 3/8" drill.
Replace the bolt with a longer 3/8" hardened bolt and locknut.
You will ever have to torch and extract one again, at most you would need to cut the nut off and replace with another common bolt and nut for $2 a side.
