I have found some wheels I like. The bolt pattern is the same as ours, I believe they are 17x7.5, but the offset is 47mm.

I have tried to search this, but I am not finding much about the offset. I do know ours is 38mm.

Would these work on the SHO?

I doubt it. They will almost certainly rub the struts. You might could get some 1/4" spacers and have it work, though. Maybe even 1/2" if you want the "wide-body" look.

I forget the offset on mine, but I'm running 17x7.5 volvo wheels and i need a spacer up front to clear the swaybar endlinks with 235-45-17 Pirelli's p6

the rear defintely requires a spacer to clear the struts

I will try to find some information on what offset my wheels are

heres some pics

ok so one website says my wheels are 49mm offset

if my understanding of offset measurements are correct, you will have 2mm more clearance on the inside of the wheels to the suspension then I currently have....

I'd say you would still be required to run spacers, I don't know how thick mine are, but if you need to know I can measure them, but you would have slightly better clearance then me, now this all depends on tires too, cause different sizes are different widths, as well as differerent brands..... not all brands make a certain size tire exactly the same.... so this is where you will be worrying about, because I don't have problems with wheels hitting stuff, its the tire that is close

ALSO

with these wheels/spacers it is IMPERATIVE that you have the correct length SHO wheel studs... mine didn't on one side, the whole hub was different.... and i've heard stories about people buying new hubs and they come with shorter wheel studs

offset is the amount of distance from the centerline of the wheel that the hub mounting surface is set at; 47mm means that the hub is 47mm closer to the outer edge of the wheel than the centerline. You MIGHT have 1 or 2mm of clearance, but don't forget that the tires will flex and move under cornering forces...

The stock wheel offset is 42mm and 6 inches wide. What the more positive offset a wheel has the further it goes into the wheel well. You also have to take into consideration your making the wheel wider and bringing it in further than stock, with that said my old 17x7 td pr2s had a 45mm offset and did not rub. With a .5 inch more wheel than i ran a .25 inch will be on either side of the wheel so you would need to use at least a .25 inch spacer to run those wheels.

I actually wouldn't mind getting a set of polished or chrome PR2's in 17 inch.

So, if I wanted to run the wheels I found (47mm offset, 17x7.5, and correct bolt pattern), I would need a .25 inch spacer on all 4 wheels and longer wheel studs?

I run 18x8 with 38mm offset without any spacers for future referance.

Its pretty damn close to the strut but no rubs.

Yes you would need to run longer studs to be safe. There arent any extended studs that will pop into place without modification to the spindle so it wont be easy to do just so you know.
