Hello all,
So Ive installed a new amp and sub box and its kickin'. The only problem is that I cant find a radio on output for the remote input. Right now Ive just hard wired it to the fuse box just to make sure everything else is working. I tried the dark blue one in the trunk but apparently theres not enough juice to power the factory amps and the new one. When I spliced into it it just cut all amp power. I tried finding one behind the glove box going to the antenna but there are only 2 and the coaxial going to it. Neither one only had power when the radio is turned on.
Am I going to have to pull the HU out to get to the "radio on" wire or is it routed somewhere that I can hopefully reach w/o pulling the radio out.
Also if anyone knows for sure what colors I should be looking for that would be very helpful, or where the power antenna switch is located (supposedly where the R/P,G/Y,and O/LB all meet). The wiring diagrams seem to vary, or I not seeing something.
Any help is always greatly appreciated,
Steve

I think you might have to pull the head unit to get this to work. Easy enough to do, you need the special DIN tools to do it though, so don't go prying at it with a screwdriver. You can get the tools at any autozone/advance auto etc.

Once again, I'll point you to this thread:

There are diagrams of what pretty much every wire does there, so you should be able to figure out which wire you will use for your remote turn on from that if you don't have a multimeter or test light.

Like I said before, you won't want to use the power antenna lead, because it will turn your amp on/off when the you switch between fm and cd.
