Hi guys, need some help my sho's tranny has a bad shudder on hard acceleration in first gear. If I get on it off the line it will start to spin the tires a bit when it starts to boost then it will start to shudder pretty bad like bad wheel hop. It seems today its getting worse and after the shudder the rpms spun up to 6k rpm.
I had the livornious 4+x tune on it and at first it was great it would spin first then catch 2nd but after a couple weeks it started to shudder bad middle to top of 1st gear. I changed over to gearhead 93 octane tune and same thing started off good then after a while started to shudder and now looks like it free revs after shudder. If I drive it normal its fine shifts smooth. When I put it back to stock tune it was fine. I drained and filled the tranny 4 times within a few weeks even put half quart extra fluid. I don't know if its torque converter going, tranny going or what, it does have 140k on it I just purchased it this spring. Any help would be appreciated.

Upgrade your transmission torque mounts. You can do the 18/19 factory mount, SSM, Anthony's mystery mount, or have a local machine shop Fab one up. The shudder comes from the mount flexing and then the engine/trans safety kicks the power off and let's it free rev.
If you upgrade the mount it fixes 1-2 issues.

How many miles on your 2010? Any tach flutter without load changes, such as on cruise on flat roads? I have rarely heard of sensor issues with the SHO, but it could be the TSS/OSS not keeping up. Are you using the extra firm shifts tuners normally put in, or just the firm. Backing down shift pressures might be all you need.

Also check the knock sensor wiring harness. Chafing on the block and causing false knock was a common-ish problem for Gen IV.

It does seem that the issues occur after the tune has been learned by the PCM.

It has 142k miles, it does seem to happen after the tune settles in after a few miles when it actually does feel like it pulls a bit harder. the lme tune I was running was the 4+x which shifted hard and was great until after awhile it started acting up. Switched to gearhead as I read on the forum that there shifts aren't hard shift but quick which was correct but again after awhile it started to do the same. It shudders before the shift middle to top of first gear not on shift itself. the only flutter I see is when slowing to near stop tach while at times flutter up at about 1300 rpm for awhile.
Also as i'm driving I've noticed that when I let off the throttle the torque converter stays locked until I come to a stop

If you suspect the transmission at all, and the fluid is in perfect condition, add some Lubegard Shudder Fixx. It will not hurt performance in any way, and will give you a quick assessment of the torque converter.

I generally avoid recommending trans additives, but this is a good product from a good company.

A typical way of diagnosing the TC also is to stay out of overdrive, so 6th gear in this case.

Its worth a try to change the mounts, I'll order the 18 stock mounts to see if that works but the shudder is before the shift.

I actually did order a couple of those should have them tomorrow. I asked my trans guy about it and he said to use it as diagnostic tool. If it stops the shudder its the torque converter. Also I did about 4 drain and fills in the last month

Thanks for the link might have to check on the tcc solenoids and change the mounts. The problem I'm having with the shudder is under full throttle middle to top of first gear before the shift to second. It is similar to what that thread says. I'll check to see if any wires are chaffed tomorrow
I'm confused, do you have a livernois or GH tune? Both are mentioned in your opening post.I had a boatload of shifting and revving issues with Livernois, and after switching to Gearhead auto octane, ALL of my issues disappeared. Matt rocks!

I had the livernois tried to explain what was happening that it was shuddering in the top of first gear before shifting to second and they weren't very helpful. I just asked if I could get a revised tune with a little less line pressure on trans, never heard back. I said when I put it back to stock it didn't do it. so I went with gear head. so far it's been good after I change the trans fluid for fifth time in a month and added more fluid probably almost a quart more

Livernois shift is issues is somewhat common. There are multiple threads about cars missing the 1-2 and or 2-3 shift. 1-2 issues are pretty standard with them but usually gets better or goes away entirely if you turn traction control off. At one point LMS recommended adding 1/2 quart more fluid but I have no proof that does anything to help. 2-3 is usually a symptom of bigger issues with the tune.
And the fact that you go no response to a problem isn't surprising to me unfortunately.
