Yes, yes I do. That is one reason I love the Wagon. No abs, no tc, no asm. What I see above me is people who don't know how to handle their cars out on public roads. I have nearly crashed twice thanks to the damn stability control in my parents Pontiac. I can do without it. And one of the only crashes I have ever been in was thanks to a faulty ABS system.

Turning off traction control does not make you crash. In fact an SHO does not have enough power to get into a situation like that. Unless you somehow made it rwd only. My main concerns are a. Having fun on snow in empty, I say again EMPTY, parking lots (I know it's unsafe and I know you've done it before too, so don't go giving me s#!t about it) and b. Deep snow. I don't even know how many times I've gotten vehicles stuck in deep snow because the car keeps cutting power when the tires spin or has a "loss of stability"

Even after watching those I still want to turn mine off. I may be the only one but I actually only want to turn mine off when I'm not on public roads. I'm past the age of racing around on the street to impress friends. I want to be able to turn mine off in controlled environments. It would be hard for those guys to hit anything if they're surrounded by 200' of concrete and no obstacles.

Additionally, anyone who's driven cars knows there's a HUGE difference between driving a RWD car and an "AWD" car. How many AWD crashes can you find from someone taking off w/out traction control? Not that it cannot happen, but it's much easier to take off and crash in a high torque RWD vehicle than AWD.

After having the SHO sideways at 70 on the eway last year I would like to turn mine off for good. As I struggled to regain control I had visions of ditching the grey beast, but somehow as I just got her straightened out the TCS kicked in and dropped the nose and sent me into another slide....damn that TCS

The detail that everyone is overlooking is that the "AWD" EcoBoosts are actually FWD cars. They will never have a 50/50 split or rear wheel bias, as at best they are ~70%F/30%R. The physics of the car are far more akin to that of a Focus than of a Mustang or even a street rally car like the WRX, EVO, QUATTRO or even the impending RS. That is why there are so many that are so enamored with the RS. It is our first real jump into the AWD performance world. Making an AWD SUV or P/U doesn't really count.

I don't get the point of the video or this post! The driver is a complete *****! He's smoking his tires, no traction, and in 2nd gear going how fast at this point, he unequivocally knows he's losing his rear end but YET he stays in the throttle! WTF? Idiot driver!

Thank you to the Livernois representative for pointing out what some may overlook.

While we can debate all day long about traction control on, traction control off, etc, etc, the reality, as LMS points out, is this car is a front drive configuration with part time on demand AWD. Add that the D3 platform that is the basis of the car is ancient, as automotive platforms go, it is an engineering feat that Ford got this car to where it is.

If an individual wants to disable critical safety systems and go have fun on a track somewhere, I'm ok with that. What the heck, it's not my car. However, if at the end of the day what is being attempted is a performance result that the platform is not capable of delivering based on integral design limitations, that is another matter.

The SHO, as much as I love it, and as many modifications as Ford has made to create it, likely can't be modified to a level where it can handle with the best of the rear drive platforms. The dynamics of the platform just won't permit it.

There, now I need to go drive my SHO up to Starbucks.
