Ok I'm wanting to take my taurus emblem off to either get a blue sticker made to put over the hole emblem it's self or paint it blue. (I basily want my Taurus emeblem to be in ford blue, to match the rest of my blue on the out side of my sho) Now i really haven't taken a good look at it yet.( i did a search on the topic) But is it just double sided taped on or is there screws on there. If there is screws holding it in can i remove it and put it back on with out messing any thing up? Or do u have to like bust it off to get the thing off of there? If that makes since... But If any body knows any thing please chim in... :D

You're talking about the emblem that spells TAURUS correct? I think it's just adhesive. Use heat and gentile prying. Put something between whatever you use to pry and the painted surface so you don't make a mess.

Noo! It is not just adhesive. There are two pins that stick off the back of the badge that are used to line it up straight. I'm not sure how to remove it without breaking anything. When I pried my TAURUS badge off my blue car I just broke the pegs.

You can probably heat up the adhesive, but I'm not sure how to get the pegs out without breaking them.

Sorry, not much help but I didnt want you to start taking it off and be left with two ugly holes and broken pieces.

Thanks
Jason

I used a knife and didn't scratch the paint thumb . Use goo be gone to remove the remainder of the adhesive.

There are pegs and small holes to make sure the emblem sits level. The pegs are not flared and do not really hold them on as much as line it up so it goes on straight. You must use heat if you don't want to crack the whole thing. Goo Gone or a similar product is a good idea to clean up the mating surface area. BTW the last I checked the emblem isn't that much to replace.

?

Your "Taurus" emblem isn't painted the same color as the body? I thought all gen2's were done that way.

I went with a nice gen 3 engine emblem in place of the tame looking taurus emblem. In the sun the gold in the SHO really shines out.

Ah, I see. I've got a Yamaha badge on the right in the back. I'm going to leave Taurus on there, but I think I'll put a Gen# emblems on the front somewhere. Nothing mentioning SHO up there. I think black should look good on a green car.
