Okay.. went to put on the sway bar we got from the salvage yard and ran into an immediate issue.

There appears to be a bushing missing from the bottom of the connector. I also didn't get any nuts from the salvage yard folks, so I don't have the nuts to connect the sway bar to the connector.

Can you buy new connectors ? Will they come with the bushings and nuts ?

Do I need the bushing... can I connect the sway bar without it ?

I know.. complete newbie question, your going to laugh..

You have to have bushings and connectors. Bushings depend on which size sway bar you have, the conectors and bolts do not. Nuts should be 8x1.25 IIRC

I don't see where I can purchase an adjustable connector at like Advance or Parts+Plus.. are these available through standard parts outlet or only through a performance provider ?

sway bar bushings can be found everywhere , rockauto is a good place to look. Measure your bar before though , theres sizes from 19 to 28mm , and the year don't matter much (specially in 94) . Ford played alot with sway bar sizes withing the same year.

Sway bar links (comes with bushings) , rockauto there's plenny of them. I never saw adjustable ones though

I have the sway bar bushing.. it was the bar links and bushings which I was missing and I have those coming from Advance Auto shortly.

When people said "make your sway bar adjustable" I thought it was the link which was adjustable, and you were turning the nut up or down to change the geometery. But your saying you never saw an adjustable one before.. so what part of the swaybar/link set up is the adjustable part folks are talking about ?

There's nothing much special about the rear bar end links. I suspect the stuff off the rack at Autozone would work fine.

Well, before shobros came out with their adjustible endlinks, there were none. The taurus uses the same kind of endlink as a lot of other ford products, so there are a variety of lengths to use. I have lowered my car, and I purchased a much shorter endlink than stock to compensate. I would go to advance auto (sorry, I'm biased, my wife works there), or autozone, and explain your situation to the guy (or girl!) there. Chances are good they will let you browse their selection of end links. What you can do, is purchase two different length sets of endlinks and set preload that way. It looks (and is) stock, but you still get the advantage. I can't help you as far as which way to set pre-load, etc, that's a problem for the suspension gurus, but I can guarantee you it will work!

p.s. the second link is gonna be a bitch to install if you got a 26mm bar. I recommend jacking the other side of the suspension up to help you.

You cant get the adjustable endlinks at a local autoparts store, just the stock one. You will need the bushings and endlinks to make it happen.

We carry them here: SHOBros (yes they are expensive)

The easy way to install the end links is to install them with both wheels on the ground. There is quite a bit of room if you slide under the rear with out jacking the car up. I am by no means small and can do it. Same way if your just changing bushings and don't unhook the the end links.

You can get the "chassis 500" stock links from Murrays. They have a bolt and a sleeve.

Cut the sleeve on the one you want shorter.

The links come with bushings and nuts... 8 bucks each.
