I had the passenger side front wheel off while I was replacing the front motor mount last week and I noticed the sway bar endlink was kinda loose. When I say loose, I mean that I could move it with my hand. There didn't really seem to be any vertical movement, but I could twist it quite a bit. I've heard that loose endlinks could produce some thumping noises, which I am experiencing a lot of right now. Should these endlinks have any play in them? I should also note that the previous owner Eibach springs on the car. Would this necessitate using a different endlink if I have to replace them? Any help here would be very much appreciated.

Twisting is okay, it's designed to be able to twist as the suspension flexes. It shouldn't however, have torn boots or be able to move in and out or up and down. Sometimes it's a little tough to tell whether it's okay when still installed, but just being able to twist it around doesn't mean it's not okay.
