Hey all,

I'm cleaning up a 2013 Sedan PI with the 3.5 Ecoboost package (SHO-Lite by any other name!) that I recently purchased. Any Space Coast or Orlando owners active on here that might be interested in a meet? I'm a former member of some pretty strong car clubs here in CFL (Volvo, VW/Audi/BMW/Mercedes (Euro Alliance), Holden/Chevy (GoFasst, the Florida G8 group, etc...) and figured there might be some interest if someone was to organize a bit. Fuel cost being what it is these days I can understand if there's no takers. I'm in Central Brevard if that helps any...

Thanks
Eric

Hey Eric, I'm in the Tampa area and I am a member of the FL SHO members group. I attend a fair amount of shows in the Tampa area with my 89 SHO and also with my 2012 CTS-V. Sadly I can't get many SHOs to come out, actually only one gen4 has attended a few, never have seen another gen1, gen2 or gen3 at a show yet, whether I'm in my SHO or Caddy. Truth be told, even though my 89 is in need of restoration, it always seems to attract more attention than my 700+ hp CTS-V. Good luck trying to set something up, I'd drive mine over to somewhere in central FL for a meet for SHO.

So so good to see posts in this section - things were really starting to dry up . . .
Eric, I'm in the same area as you, but I'm not in the Gen4 crowd - I have a 98. I'll PM you with more.

Yep, it's very interesting there haven't been more responses, or perhaps no one is watching the digest on this subforum. I KNOW we've got SHO owners in this area, unless their cars are either garage queens on jackstands or just used for grocery getters. Or maybe Covid has taken the desire for personal interaction away.... "Meet people? EWWWWW...." :eeeeeek::eeeeeek::eeeeeek:

Thanks
Eric

I'm in the Cocoa area. I go to shows just never enter my car because "it's just a normal Taurus" I felt weird entering it. The one time I did was at a Ford only show, though that was probably best case because people were shocked to see one. I'm usually at the dragstrip at OSW on Friday nights when it's cooler out. Probably be there this Friday after work unless I get helped up for some reason (Ford tech). I just tuned it and installed AD mounts, I'm really excited. Probably gonna beat my PB 13.59 @102.9 mph

Awesome, years ago I was driving a modded 2011 Caprice PPV 6.0 and I went up to the 2013 Daytona Spring Fling with the GoFasst crew, the volunteer show runners stopped me at the gate, pulled me out of line from the rest of the club & denied me entry. They said there wasn't anything special about the car. This was one week after the Chevrolet SS made it's debut to the world at the very same track. Dweebils! So I feel your pain with that statement ("It's just a normal Taurus")!! I'm in Rockledge, I'll send you a PM so we can touch base.

Thanks
Eric

There was an SFBay Area all Fords yearly meet a long time back. It originally met at a site that had been a Ford mfg plant! But when that got developed into something else, they moved it around. The BaySHO group got together for one of those shows and about six or eight of us attended with our Gen 1 and 2 cars. A lot of people walked past and openly wondered why there were plain Tauruses sitting there. But the ones who knew better, or who saw that "that isn't a regular Taurus engine", those got to talk to us or even get educated. (I have had people ask me at autocrosses how I got a 'custom manual' installed in my Gen 2. I just paid Ford to do it for me! And the autocrossers who got beat by my "grocery getter" were even more upset.) Anyway, it's worth it to show the flag and open peoples' eyes, IMO. May be worthwhile making up an informational board and having it sit next to the car, I think we did one or two of those for that Ford show, and at the SHO conventions people have done it for their cars to show modifications, etc.

OK, I'm CPR'ing this thread since it's getting warmer out & we're now on DST so it gets dark later. We still need a Taurus & SHO meet for Central Florida, probably in the Orlando area to accommodate anyone driving from either coast to equal out the distance. So.....is there any interest out there in a meet?

Don't forget Ace Cafe in Orlando on Livingston St. does hold a Ford night on the 1st Wednesday of each month, so if we can't do it as a stand-alone we could probably piggy-back on this meet for a starter. Yeah, this is one of the very few Ace Cafe's in the world (4 overseas, one in the US) so if nothing else it's worth a drive to check it out if you haven't been. Food, drinks, live music, good fellowship and plenty of Ford's, what more do we need!

Thanks
Eric

Hey I live in that area! I would 100% be interested in a meet, I just started getting into the car scene out here and I'm usually out every weekend. Even if there wasn't enough interest to justify a stand-alone meet, there are a bunch of meets id be happy to meet other SHO owners at, park n' chills, street races, etc. Im usually more active on Instagram @Lurch.SHO, but if you're interested in any other meets id recommend looking at @WavyMeets, @407CarScene, or @VelocityMeets on Instagram, usually one of them is hosting a meet every weekend with at least 80+ cars showing up.

Welcome & thanks for the reply. Let's see if we get more interest, if we can get a few more SHO's we could do something small to start with as a standalone at a restaurant or something similar. That formula worked really well for years with the car groups I've previously both been at and coordinated meets for. Don't think I'd show at a street race meet given how draconian the laws are these days, but I'd like to meet some other owners & see some cars :)

Thanks... Anyone else?

I like the idea, and I can't blame you for not wanting to come for races, the more and more it gets a bad rep in Orlando the farther and farther out we gotta go. I'm gonna be out here tonight at this meet close to the millennia mall, park n' chill, 4011 W. Oak Ridge Rd. Orlando FL 9-12 pmUnnamed

Hey y'all, just for discussion sake we have a number of Ford's Garage restaurants now in the CFL area. Davenport, Oviedo, Daytona Beach, and a new one going in 5 miles from me in Viera. Does anyone know if these guys are car meet friendly and would they discount for a nice group of SHO owners every so often? Last club I was active with met weekly at Smokey Bones in Orlando on 50, the organizer had negotiated 25% off menu prices for eat-in at the restaurant. Of course they rolled in with 40+ cars in the shopping center right behind, but just sayin' :) Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Thanks
Eric
