I haven't driven my SHO in almost two days. It's been sitting in the garage. I went to start it up today and I had the hood up because I had reconnected the battery. When it started up a very noticable puff of smoke came up from the engine bay. I checked the exhaust, it was smoky too. Last weekend I checked my oil level and I had to add a quart of oil to it. That was only 1,500 miles into this batch of oil.
What am I looking at here? Some seals? Pistons? Bad engine?

Agreed with above. Something to due with the heads. Bad valve seals will allow oil to drip into the cylinder while the car sits and then you get a puff when you start it up. It isnt noticable when driving because it is a small amout that leaks down. As far as being in the engine compartment, im thinking it might be oil on the manifolds from your valve cover gaskets or an exhaust leak.

Ah crap! My 168K+ 3.0 never burnt oil, but my 100K+ 3.2 does... go figure. I'll guess I'll just have to swap over the heads, with a little help from my good friends Mr. Port and Miss Polish.
