You will need the help of a good parts guy at a Ford dealer. There are still a few around collecting dust on the shelf. He will have to do a nationwide search to find one, and a lot of parts people just don't want to spend the time looking for stuff like that. Like most parts for these cars, the cable has been discontinued for a long time.

We found one in Dallas about a year and a half ago when the little plastic thing that holds the cable to the shifter broke. You gotta buy the whole cable just to get the little clip.

Just talk nicely to someone at your local Ford dealer, and maybe they will help. Be forewarned though, that if you can find one, it will set you back $125-$200 depending on where it is.

Outside of that, it's junk yard time, or rod shifter conversion time.

I just got a complete rod shifer assembly from the boneyard for 10 bucks so when my cable goes I wont have to worry about it again!
