Alright, I'm going to replace my rear springs, struts and strut mounts in the next month and I was just wondering if there are any better mounts to use than OEM. It is my understanding that the OEM mounts fail quite often and since it isn't too cheap to tear apart the whole rear supsension to fix them, I'm hoping there are some reinforced ones on the market somewhere. Does anyone know of such a thing or are OEM my best bet? Also does Eibach make springs for our cars that don't lower the ride hight?

Thanks,

Brett

It is my experience that the OEM mounts (brackets?) are quite long lived. I have replaced mine only a couple of times in the life of the car. I recently replaced the left front strut bracket with the $26 Ford part with great comfort that it would last another 150,000 miles.

I think Eibach only has 1 set of springs that fit our cars. The lowering doesn't seem that much. Then again my originals are looking pretty sad.

Thanks for the quick reply! I always hear of everyone complaining about that clunking noise in the back of their car...well that's what mine is doing. I think that is the strut mounts, is it not? I just figured that because everyone is always complaining about having that clunking noise that the OE mounts must not have been too good. If you feel the OEM mounts are sufficient Scott, then I'll just go ahead and buy those. Thanks again!

I just don't want to have to adjust the camber, break welds, or anything that goes along with lowering the car. I like the idea of having Eibach springs, I just don't want my tires to wear poorly because of the lowering and no camber change. Are there any performance springs other than OE that don't lower the ride hight?
