have a 95 atx sho with idle issues and found that one of my couplers is cracked... i want to replace it without having to remove entire intake manifold... is it ok to just unbolt and remove the affected runner or is it necassary to remove the entire manifold?

 thanks

You will probably have to take it off. The runner that is affected is connected to a secondary on the other tank and those are attached to the secondaries. I know taking that intake off isn't fun, I did it three times in one day.:madflame: Damn vacuum leaks.

No the colored hoses are at no extra cost.

It isn't too bad to remove the intake. It is a great time to do the throttle body bypass too. I can have the intake off in about 20-30min.

Make sure you get you're gaskets in the right order, and the horns are all in there and facing the right direction. Make sure to tighten the nuts and bolts to spec, if not you could end up with a massive vacuum leak like I did, and have to take the intake back off to re-torque them.

While you have it off, it's a good idea to clean all that carbon and sludge buildup out of there. It takes a while, but mine seemed to run a little quieter afterwards, plus with all that gunk out of there you should get a little better airflow.

What to clean it with?

Berryman's B12 Chemtool (more than one if its bad), a bottle brush, and one of these if you can find one.

I found it at the local hardware store, $6. The brush itself is about 24", plus the handle, and it's flexible enough to go all the way through the runners.

Use it only in a ventalated area. Read the thread about it in the product feedback section.
