Is ther a sensor that goes into the stock cold air box? And if so, how does a car run without one. Thanks for your help! :salute:

There is the air temp sensor. Your check engine light will go on if it is not in your intake.

OK, thanks for the reply. When I got my SHO the air box and fender cone was missing. I had to come up with my own air intake, so I went with a cone filter with an extension into the fender-well. There was no sensor. I found what looks like it could be the sensor wiretied in front of the fan with one of it's wiers cut. It is on the end of a long double wire wound with electrical tape. Is this my air box sensor??

yes there is. I cleaned it up with contact cleaner and rewired it. Should I place it in the flow of my air intake?

Well, I found out that the sensor in question is The Air Charge Temperature Sensor that goes in the intake airbox. Thanks for your help. Now that it is reconnected and placed back in the flow of air perhaps my car will run better.
