I would like to go to the junkyard and cut a good chunk of metal off of a Gen II. Will this be possible? I only want to use it to rebuild the area around the gas cap, and fender lip.

This is what I have now:

I searched and found this thread:

In otherwords, how different is the Gen II and Gen I quarter panel under the crease running down the side of the car?

Thanks.

Now it also looks like I need rockers on the passenger side. Driver side, so far, looks to still be intact.

Going to need a sawzall and a day off of school its looking like.

Im pretty sure the 1st gen wheel arch is more of an oval and the 2nd gen is more of a circle. This seams like its just asking for trouble.

if you were to swap both sides including the outer wheel well that would be a different story.... but even then the ground effects might not line up at all.

After looking over some more pictures, you may be right. Will have to measure some stuff on a students car.
