Hello folks! I'm a prospective SHO owner...there's a white demo model on the showroom floor at Sunset that I'm thinking about. I'm currently in a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP.

Anybody have any serious-type problems with the latest generation so far?

There aren't many major problems with the new platform that we know of. Just some small issues. Seems to be on the early production models.

Thank you STL SHO!

I've been agonizing over this one for a while...I was determined to hang on to the Pontiac for a while; that little car and I have been a lot of places together. Bought it new in Honolulu; when the gov't moved me back here I picked it up in Long Beach and drove it the rest of the way.

The SHO would not be my first Ford. I had a Tempo for a while back in college in the early '90s, then got a new '94 Ranger after graduation. Had that for a couple of years, then picked up a '93 Mustang LX 5.0 with low miles in January '95. Went everywhere with that car---I was in the Coast Guard at the time---and eventually got an '01 Mustang V-6 Premium to go with it. Traded both of those away for a '03 Mercury Marauder. That car didn't survive the trip to Hawaii, unfortunately...the gov't subcontractors dropped it getting it off the ship. (it landed on its wheels, but the suspension damage wasn't noticed until after I picked it up. By then the subcontractor refused to pay for it because I'd already driven it off their lot.)

After the Marauder, I took a break from Fords for a while; at that time Ford was in trouble and things were looking bad. I got into a Pontiac Bonneville GXP and got out of it after a year because the electrical system went bad; found the Grand Prix GXP and decided to give Pontiac one more chance.

Too bad GM couldn't do the same. I don't really want to give up my Poncho, but with the basic warranty about to expire, and Pontiac now being dead, I've gotta start looking elsewhere. I'd actually thought about a Fusion Sport w/AWD, but the wifey and the little one have increasing needs on space, so...

That demo model is cut down enough on price to where it's almost affordable, so I may go for it. We're gonna go in next week and see what Sunset will do for us; we've done business there before (me with my Marauder, then we bought an '08 Taurus SEL from them about a year and 1/2 ago), so maybe they'll help me out. We'll see.

Thanks again.:salute:
