So as you can probably guess my shift **** is warn and its time for a replacement. I like the look/feel of the factory **** so I am going to get a mustang shift ****. Does anyone know if the mustang **** is the exact same shape as the SHO ****? This may sound silly but I really like the feel of the SHO ****. Also, is a "black" leather mustang **** the same "black" found in the SHO interiors? (I'm pretty sure my interior is black but there are times I think my eyes are playing tricks on me and it looks really really really dark gray or blue.) Are there any really similar colors that I should be cautious not to get confused with? l I know many times pictures on the internet can misrepresent colors and I don't want to end up with a mismatched shift ****. Thanks!

"Taurus SHO Black" + 20 years = Any black interior ever

Even when the cars were new, the colors of different interior parts didn't match 100% perfectly, because most of them were made by totally different companies in totally different plants.

Interior surface colors aren't anywhere near as picky as exterior paint colors. In body paint, you have large sections of flat, semi-reflective surfaces where you can spot a slightly different color a long ways off, but with all of the textures, differing planar angles, etc. of interiors, there ain't no way you're gonna notice the difference from one black to the next. Or at least it won't bug you to look at it.

^What he said. I put a gray Gen 3 steering wheel in my SHO. The wheel seems to be slightly darker than the Gen 2 gray interior, but I don't give a flying ****.

My mustang **** is like charcoal...and the seams are raised more than baseball stiching. I love it.

Also, gen 1 and gen 2 knobs are different.

It's not a direct fit kind of thing, so you'll need to figure out how you want to stick it on there. But we could probally work something out I'm sure.. :) I got a pretty good deal on em.. and know where to get a lot more of these... boxes full of them. There is a mustang "take off" warehouse in town here I happened across a while back.

Do the black leather mustang knobs leave a funny gap between the boot and the ****?

The one I have has a "ring" sort of at the bottom of it, because the factory mustang boots, actually fit up and over to hold the boot up.

not if you slide the boot up.

So the leather wrapped mustang knobs look basically the same as the SHO ****? I'm talking about the older fully leather wrapped ones, not the ones shown in the previous pics. I know it sounds funny I'm just picky about how things look, I want the boot to stay up like it does now, I hate when it slides down or looks tacky/mickey moused.

I see this prototype on eBay from time to time.

I can't believe it hasn't sold yet.

The picture of the leather **** with the J-gear is photoshopped. There is a thread floating around here with both the original and the 'shopped pictures.
