Having troubles with stiff steering. Wondering where to start?

Possibly steering gear motor or module, not providing assist. Check for codes, see if anything shows up to point you in a particular direction.

Helps to know what year vehicle and what vehicle you have If you live in a rust/salt belt state, there could be corrosion of the steering gear bolts as well.
