Honestly, I can pick up a clean 13 SHO for 15 to 17 k right now. I would rather spend the extra coin on a real SHO.

I hear you, all those creature comforts would be great and I may end up going that way but I can get the '13 interceptor, 71,000, ecoboost, back up camera, sync, clean Carfax for 8,000 out the door. Have had a few ex squad cars over the years, aware of the risk I am taking...

Personally with this platform I would not. That car has probably been beat on it's whole life. If it was Crown Vic, I would say wear it out.

And for the most part I agree w/you, I have investigated this car a bit and it came from an upscale community of 9,000 on Lake St Claire in Mi. It was ordered w/5,100.00 worth of optional equipment when it was ordered...

You seem to have your mind made up. I hope it works out for you.

No , not really made up, actually trying to talk my self out of it, not working very well, it is 500 miles away and can you really trust what comes out of the mouth of a used car dealer ? Lol

Like I said. The whole package, makes the SHO. The performance, the creature comforts, styling, ect. A PI car will have a very limited amount of those.

For 8k I would think about it but you should budget in alot of cash for initial addressing of maintenance on all drivetrain fluids and waterpump replacement. Also if you can get a Ford backed warranty for a good price I would buy that too. Coin flip. I might still try and get it for less.

For less than half of the typical market price, you could replace the entire drivetrain and still come out ahead! The Interceptors look cool, no big deal that it's not a SHO, none of the Tauri have good resale anyway.

$8k is a good price for a EB interceptor with lower miles for a fleet car but they do not go for the same money as a SHO.

I had (2) cars on my short list for my summer ride, retired and w/a number of other vehicles, a bike and classic truck and motorhome and winter beater, lol , I needed to keep the price down because it will sit in the garage all winter, so the idea of a ex squad w/ecoboost, poor mans SHO, was one the other was either a Srt8 Magnum or R/T Magnum. Picked up a '06 Magnum R/T this weekend. 1 owner, 137,000 miles, lady driven, well taken care of. That's my story and I am sticking to it.
