I caved. Trading in my '10 SHO for the '13 SHO. Order went in yesterday; should hopefully have it near the end of June. Black, fully loaded, minus the Performance Package. I prefer the Adaptive Cruise Control.

Forget those sissy online demonstration videos...I can't wait to see how Active Park Assist tackles a REAL New York City parking space.

I was surprised how well my active park works. I haven't tried it on anything really tight so it will be interesting to see how small of a spot it will park in.

Best of luck with the car. I really enjoy my 13 SHO.

Ford finally put up their available accessories page for the 2013 Taurus. I've got my eye on the front bumper proximity sensors, but I'm concerned at how intrusive of an installation it might be. Don't want my dealership mucking up my brand new car.

I have installed a similar backup system on both my G8 GT's. Since it came from Pontiac via Holden, it was plug and play. Just had to drill the holes and everything else is simple. Took me about an hour.

I ordered mine today, I got the PP and the adaptive cruise. Adaptive cruise is a stand alone option. Dont let them tell you otherwise.

I had no idea. I can't deal with summer performance tires in New York anyway.

I'll take some pics once I get the windows tinted and I have a day off from work when it DOESN'T rain after I clean the car.

According to the brochure Adapitive Cruise cannot be gotten with the Performance Package... mainly due to location issues with the aux trans cooler... maybe FORD figured out something.

*nope still wont let you wont let you have the option with Performance Package at Ford's website* (maybe its a running change...huh)

Scott, you are 100% Correct.

You cannot, and will not, be able to order the ACC inconjunction with the PP.

The reason is also correct that the hoses, and other parts related to the Aux Trans Cooler completely get in the way of the radar sensor used with the ACC.

Funny cuz Mr. Ling and I were having a conversation about this very same subject matter at the banquet during the '12 SHO Convention.

I mentioned I was the 1st pre '13 owner to have retro'd the Aux Trans Cooler onto my SHO and that a few pre '13 owners (who had the ACC option & were looking to perform the same retro) were unable to do so, due to everything being in the way.

Steve nodded in agreement and confirmed that was one of the primary reasons why FMC is not allowing those two features (ACC & PP) to be ordered simultaneously.

I'm taking my SHO back to the dealer tomorrow for two things to be looked at.

First, the rear left quarter lower panel doesn't seem to be on quite right. There's a bit of a gap visible on the side where the panels come together (nothing dramatic), but when you open the trunk, you can see the panel is off a bit from the inside of the tail light. I want to see if that can be easily corrected without making something else worse.

Second, when my A/C is running in Automatic mode, it seems to be working too hard. I keep the temperature set to 70 degrees Auto, just like I did on my '10 SHO. But on the '13, the car seems to get too cold at night. When it's been running for a while, condensation starts dripping from beneath the engine like a panting dog. Not only that, but I can hear dripping from inside the car. I don't think that's normal. There's nothing wet inside the car, and I inspected around the foot well areas. Nothing out of the ordinary, but I hear a very audible "drip" every now and then, and only when the A/C is on.

It hasn't been doing it as much lately, as the weather has cooled off a bit.

MyFord Touch acts a bit odd now and then, but I'm still loving it.

Oh, almost forgot. What's the average engine "break-in" time? 500 miles? I've been taking it easy thus far, and I should reach 500 some time tomorrow.
