One more time at Cecil... tune only SHO

Went back down to the dragstrip after installing the pre-gapped 542 plugs from Gearhead. Got a new personal best, and made some datalogs for Matt so he could revise my tune. DA was about -700ft. Was a little conservative on the launch due to my wheel hop issues last time out.

60ft- 1.84
ET- 12.65
MPH- 108.72

Had I launched it harder, a 12.5 would've been easy. But it looks like I will have to get aftermarket mounts before I can go all out. Can't wait to order a set, and for GH to send me an E30 tune. Looking for low 12s to keep up with my friends in their modded G8 and stock Scat Pack Charger. After that, a HPFP will be necessary to go any further... and with the recent purchase of a new home, I just can't swing the cost of one of those just yet.

Nice pass!! Little at a time and you will be kicking some butt.. I know you can get 12.30's with just an e30 tune..

I may not get my chance this season... Cecil closed this weekend due to "extreme cold temperatures". I've been noticing this trend in the last few years from them. Seems anything below 35* or so and they shut down. They didn't do this over a decade ago when I was racing my C4 regularly in the cold to get the best E/T and mph.

Even though Cecil's schedule is open until the middle of Dec, with temps to be pretty consistent through the next few weeks (predicted), its possible they will just close for the remainder of the season. Bummer.

Yes... I'm running the base AO 93 octane tune from Gearhead that I received in April (I'm told he has since revised this tune... mine is the original version). Only mods are: 3-bar MAP, 542 plugs gapped at .026, K&N drop in. Everything else is 100% stock.

Atco usually stays open until dec also....

Looked them up, and it looks as though Atco stays open at least until the end of November. I remember when they stayed open year round... this was back in the early 2000s, though. That was the track in December of 1999 where GMHTP went 12.66 with the new FRC Vette, and 12.89 with the Z28. Record setting runs at the time.

On Cecil's website, it says they will be open this weekend... however, I will be moving into a new house and won't be able to take advantage. Next weekend they will probably be closed due to cold temps again... just how my luck goes.

I would like to get out one more time and see if i can get a new pb.. Maybe the weekend of the 30th.. I'm heading to Chicago next week for the mcacn auto show..
