Does anyone know where next years convention will be held or is it way to early? I missed out on the ones in Michigan and Ohio and Illinois.

I assume you are talking about the 2002 convention?

If so, we are working on that right now, it will probably be on the East Coast, and we will make a full announcement at the Tulsa Convention.

Future conventions could be in Florida, Minnesota or California. A lot depends on there being a local group to help put on the event in co-operation with SHO Club.

As was mentioned, check out http://www.shoclub.com for information on the event for 2001, you should try to make it, there is still time to get registered.

Don -
I was thinking about Connecticut or NY. CT has Lime Rock Park for a track (Skip Barber is there), and Lebanon Valley drag track in nearby NY.

NY has Watkins Glen, & not much else (J/K new yorkers!).

I'm sure between UNYSHOC & NESHOC we could get quite a bit of stuff going on. In our area, we also have a very nice Kart Racing facility (check out f1boston.com). We'd love to have y'all!

Sorry to be late to reply to this and the other posts, but here is the scoop.

Check out the info on SHOclub.com

The 2002 Convention is in Frederick Maryland, July 22-25, 2002. Here is a short list of the main events. There are others.

Monday: Registration and welcome reception
Tuesday: Car SHOw at host hotel and tech session
Wednesday: Driver Training and track day at Summit Point Raceway.
Thursday: The return of DRAG RACING after two years without, we take over Mason-Dixon dragway, a nice 1/4 mile track, for a day of testing and then eliminations. Manual and Automatic champions will race for king of the SHO's.
Annual Banquet with guest speaker and annual Red Cross Charity Auction.

We again are keeping costs to a minimum, working to keep event fun to the maximum and expect over 100 SHO's.

To answer some other questions:

Why no west coast convention so far?
We tried one in Las Vegas a few years ago, but very few west coast SHO owners signed up! IT was an odd event centered around the VERY costly Silver State Classic.

I plan on a West coast convention in either 2003 or 2004 for sure. Take it to the bank!
We are open to groups to help SHOclub host the event. Right now we are considering Bakersfield, LA, and Yes, I would consider Washington State. If you have a group that would like to help put on the event, get in touch with me right away.
