I will be lurking here for a while, to assist in deciding whether I want to get into a new SHO at my current lease end . I have always been a "GM" guy, but GM just does not have anything on par with the SHO. I need a LARGE AWD vehicle. HIDs, cooled seats, and spirited acceleration are musts.

I am very active on the Cadillacowners.com forum (currently own a 2001 SLS and lease a 07 Escalade). The closest GM has for me is the Cadillac STS4 V8. I have driven that and the SHO, and even if price was equal, the SHO prevails in fun, rear seat comfort, fit and finish, and option availablity.

There are a lot of GM "die hards" that have recently jumped ship...at least temporarily.

Welcome aboard.

When talking to people about the new SHO, after they've test driven one, I've heard the following comments:

"I feel 'empowered' when I get in, there's so much room"

"It doesn't drive like a 4500LB car"

"Considering all this power, it's extremely quiet"

"It doesn't look like a Ford interior" (I guess that's a good thing).

Thanks for the welcomes! Also, for the record, I have never been "anti" Ford. I live in GM central and just have always looked to GM. And, in moments of insanity, I had a few new LHS' in 1994 and 1999. The Ford SHO interior puts my Escalade's interior to shame. The biggest hurdle for me here is to convert back to a car after years of medium/large V8 SUVs (1999 Tahoe; 2001 Tahoe; 2006 SRX AWD V8; 2007 Escalade). I love the Escalade, but my lease buyout is ridiculous. I can get a new SHO for what they want for my 3 year old Truck. So, I just figured it was time for a change.

I hope to learn a lot here.

You'll find that although there are many die-hard Ford fans on this site that we are really more "car guys" than anything else. Anyone who makes a fast 4-door is good in my book.

Welcome. I just went the "other" way over the summer by buying a STS-V.

Bob

Thought about that too. But I need AWD (or at least FWD) and from what I have heard, even with winter shoes, an STS-V is not going to cut it for me. Too bad, because I absolutely love my Cadillac dealer. Having a third car is not an option for me, as I tried that a few years back (Tahoe in the Winter/ 300ZX Twin Turbo in the Summer) and taking care of three vehicles got really old quickly for me.

Are you active on cadillacowners.com? It is the best Caddy site I have found. Lots of helpful folks.

I do post at cadillacowners.com I go by Jedhead there too. I think the new SHO would be a great car in your area. STS-V has problems finding traction on dry pavement. I would not like to drive mine in snow. Lucky for me no snow where I live.

I hope so. I will need to actually drive one (SHO) in some snow before I commit. My 2006 SRX AWD v8 was not as good in the snow as I would have expected. It was a let down - hence I only kept it for a year and turned it in for my 07 Escalade.

I trust nobody here has had an opportunity to drive a 2010 SHO in inclement weather yet, right?
