Hello! I bought a SHO! Whatdyaknow! I'm a Camry owner for almost 15 years. I've been looking at cars and especially the SHO for a long time now. I finally found a deal I couldn't pass up. It's a 2011 SHO. What's the best/cheapest first mod that ya'll have done to your SHO? I'm leaning towards a muffler delete because the YT videos sound sweet! The only thing I don't want is a drone exhaust. Any of ya'll that have the delete does it drone? Super excited about this purchase and never would have thought I would own a car like this!

Congrats and welcome from TX! I would check routine maintenance off the list first. Make sure that PTU has some good juice in it. I lean more to the 1st & 2nd gens so not sure on the drone, but I do like the sound. And if it does drone just upgrade the stereo so its louder!

Thanks! I've read alot about the PTU and will get that checked. I had the car serviced and checked at my local mechanic and he said all looked good but I live in a small town and he probably doesn't know to check things like the PTU. The stereo sounds great (Sony package) and this is coming from years of DYI stereo and sub installs. I have two 8 inch subs I bought a couple of years ago and I'm planning on through those in the trunk.

Welcome. How many miles?

It has 91,000+. The one thing that made me buy this car is the long block was replaced by Ford MoCo. I got to talk to the service manager and see all the service records too. So essentially zero miles on engine. The only thing I know that will bite me is the transmission and so far it seems okay. Thanks, for the welcome.

If you have all the service records look for a PTU (Power Transfer Unit) service, and RDU (Rear Differential Unit) service. If they haven't been serviced, I would do them ASAP. Redline Lightweight Shockproof Oil is the preferred oil for both. I personally run it. If you have any questions throw them up here.

I have a wealth of knowledge in my post about my SHO. Even a documented transmission failure....
