I know this might be a small detail for some but is anyone else disappointed in the new font text/logo for the new "SHO" ?

http://jalopnik.com/5147709/2010-ford-taurus-sho-the-sleeper-awakens

That was one thing I liked so much about the old SHO logos was the design of the lettering & the font they used. I love using that logo for anything from windshield decal lettering, to different or additional badges & emblems on the body, or on the seat, or on the engine.. and I am critical when other SHO owners do those things without using the correct SHO logo text.

This new font they are using is SOOOOO boring & plain, it has nothing unique to it that would make us want to accentuate it. I won't be in the market anytime soon for a Gen 4 SHO but I will guarantee when I do that I will be pulling off all those new SHO decals on the body & dash & replace them with ones to match the original style.

Any thoughts or am I being too picky? How about those out there planning on getting the new 2010 SHO, would you change them?

I prefer the new logo more than old style logo'd windshield banners and additional gaudy badges.... But that's my opinion.

IMHO, that borders along the lines of rice. The only complaint I could have about it is that it says "ecoboost" under it. I'm fine with the SHO part.

If I get the new SHO, I'll do like I have done with my current SHO and pull the emblems off completely :)

I agree, its more apparent then the SHO logo. I think the logo is alright, but I have to say I will miss 'SHO' stamped into the bumper. Always was the big FU to the person thinking they could outrun ya in a taurus as you blew by

I like the new font and I agree with the preceding statement.

Agreed. I love the SHO logo embedded in the bumper. My thoughts exactly. :thumb:

I also do like the new logo. Perhaps not the ecoboost. But ford is trying to brand the ecoboost, so they are trying to get the name out there as much as possible. IIRC, the Gen 4 taurus (or whatever came after the Gen 3 style SHO's) had FPV or some logo with two leaves. It was not Taurus exclusive, I forget what it stood for.

1996-1999 did not have embedded SHO logos. It was a badge. In a very similar font to the Ecobost font. In the rear only.

I agree with Jason, any badging would likely get removed anyway, so it is a moot point to me.

Also, the two leaves were for Flex Fuel

if you look at the badges, they tweaked the SHO logo slightly with every gen...personally I love the font of the new one and it matches up pretty well...and as the third gen only had the one rear logo, the three logos is a nice subtle touch I wish the third gen had used. My biggest gripe though is that dumb ecoboost thing...the last thing I want to think about when I mash the throttle down on the larger twin turbos and custom tuned ecm with flowmasters/ bullets is about some hippy environmental crap. That'd be the first thing I'd rip off with my bare fingers...

Ahh yes, forgot Gen3's didn't either, but that at least had the badge big enough to be seen. All the pics of the new badge, if I can read it, I usually only catch the blue/green lettering of the Ecoboost. I would have rather it been badged more like the MKS if I were to keep it on the car

It may be larger, but it is body matched. You can't see it unless you are on top of it.

So who is going to be the first one to create and market the "TwinForce" emblem that Ford discarded for all the folks who wanted to go green and make up the Ecoboost name?? Hint Hint....:nut:

But that's the beauty of it.

I like the First Gen bumper. When I (eventually) shave my car that'll be the only identifying mark on it. However with that said, the font is sooooo eighties. And the Second Gen font is worse for that in my opinion. They should have done the bumper up with a newer (edgier!) font but whatever. At least they didn't use script... :scared:

Not to hard to change. Would be one of the 1st things I would likely do is paint the badge body color.

I like the new "SHO" part of the badge cause it is very clean looking and the italicized look gives it a go-fast feeling. I would have preferred them in a black chrome though. or maybe just a spread out S-H-O somewhere on the rear, like the S-H-E-L-B-Y badge on the 2010 Mustang GT500. Too bad "SHELBY" doesn't have an "O" in it or else you could make your own SHO badge from that.

Just so you guys know, after looking cloaser at the new SHO I found out the "SHO" and "EcoBoost" emblums are actually made of one piece of plastic and is considered one badge. You'd have to take a cutting wheel to it to remove the EcoBoost part.

To me the logo is pretty cool, nothing compares to the Gen I & II logos though. I don't like chrome anything especially the grill.
