so, looks like 1 of the shafts is snapped, not sure which one, but my buddy said when he pulled the trans it was snapped....there 3 he said if i recall correctly, and the one was broke...also ....my rear a-arm's were pulled in , turns out last time the car was towed, they pulled it tight with the rear a-arms and bent them, my buddy said he got them back straight again , that's why the tires were wearing funny in the rear...so after i get it back, i need 2 tires and an alignment..

that's all for now...

Wear funny how? If on the insides of the tires usually thats a sign of worn suspension.

nope, my buddy said that sometime in it's life, the car was pulled tight on a rollback and bent both a-arms, the tow guy hooked them and pulled the thing tight......my buddy says the suspension is fine, ...i was wondering why the rear tires looked like they had some negative camber....that explains it.....i thought it was supposed to be that way ,.,,,

You could probably get more help with a new post regarding new issues. Less confusing and all.

Reliability

I really don't want to seem like I am drinking from the SHO-Kool-aid, but I have over 185,000 on mine and other then the little issue mine has with melting down number 5 pistion it is fairly reliable considering the thrashing I give it on a regular basis. The tranny in mine failed because of a torque-converter issue that was in my opinion programmed to blow up (locks and unlocks with very little throttle change and every time the AC compressor kicks on and back off). Be it the clutch particles messing up valves or the pieces of the stator blades that wear off as a result of the lock-up clutch dis-engagement the result is the same.
The car is a dream on long drives. Mine has been to both coasts and from Mexico into Canada.
There are a few things to keep a look out for that can be handled before they become a problem but otherwise a very reliable and satisfactory daily driver.

Welcome

Hey I'm kind new here too, but this is a great site with some real great people to help you. I had a little "tick" inside the motor eight months ago and happened across this site and the V8SHO site at the same time. Took a while though, to locate someone to weld, PLEASE don't let anybody that calls themselves a welder try to do this on your car. It has to be done a certain way or you are screwed and so is your car. I took mine to Lombard, Ill. but if you look on V8SHO you can find a list including Kirk and St.LouisSHO who can weld for you. Mine is having a shifting issue right now that I hope to resolve soon. I hate to say it but repairs aren't cheap usually, and especially if you can't do the work yourself. Shit Happens Often- Oh I can't believe I said that but it just seems that way. Best of luck with your new addition- and whatever you do do not wait on the cam thing- It's not a matter of "if" it will happen just "when".
