Hello all,

Long time lurker and admirer of the SHO Taurus. I found a car on FB marketplace and wanted get your opinions on if it’s worth buying or not.

I’m sorry eager to get my hands on one of these but don’t want to waste time and money on something that’s not worth it. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

Facebook links are not allowed in this section so I removed it. That being said, I looked at the car. Auto trans, damage to the front end, non working AC, seats obviously have damage covered up. All those things make that car a $1000-1500 car in my book. If the front seats were in better condition and they have paperwork to back up the trans rebuild them I'd consider going a little higher but it is what it is.

Piggybacking from Chad's post above, you have to decide if AC is something you need in this car. Philly gets hot and humid in the summer and if you have to pay a shop to fix it you're looking at the value of the car in cost. I spent about $1k getting my 94 ac redone with all new parts at a shop.
I can't see any of the details, but the initial price is just the buy in. The actual cost is usually quite a bit more. If money and/or labor isn't a big deal, or it's going to be a side project, then that's different.

It's a white atx with tan interior. 178xxx on the milage. States trans rebuilt 20k ago. Minor damage on the front right. Seats have covers on them but the bolsters are visible and are pretty torn. AC not working. Asking $1800 down from $2000.

Your value is more correct. I would pass but it's been a while since I bought one so maybe my valuations are off for the market.
