I remember somewhere I saw someone used an aftermarket switch, I think from NAPA, but I can't find it.

It was for the moonroof, my button broke AGAIN.
and I'm tired of buying new Ford swithes.

I checked SHOtimes too, I might be looking in the wrong section, the post I'm thinking of had the part and instructions because you have to modify the housing a little.

Does anyone remember where that was?

Thanks for your help.

Thats off a gen 1, correct? Good idea.

My car is a 95 but I now where one is parting out.

Did you have to modify it at all?

I had to modify the bracket that the switch snaps into. The power window switch was a bit wider than the old switch. The connections are different but I can send you the schmatic for it if you need it. I just used the 5min JB weld to hold everything together. I also have some pics of the inside that I can send you, but there at home and I'm at work right now.

I really like it, it just feels better. You might be able to mod a first gen switch to take a second gen button so it would match the rest of your car.

Do a search for 'moonfoof problem' in the electronics and audio section. Yes, moonroof is misspelled. Read how I fixed mine. I slightly modified the procedure in the provided link.

Good luck,
Tom

I just replaced my moonroof switch last weekend.NAPA was closed and after seeing the switch in a book at another store I found out it was the same switch as my 89 mustang pwr door lock and power window switches. The five lugs on the switch base just plug into a terminal, get the drivers door and you'll have three switches. You dont even have to pull the panel to get the switch cluster out.If you use the mustang,I think the only years to use would be 87-93. Note:If your SHO switch cage is broken at the heat stakes you can super glue it back in place.Just put one drop on each stake and press down on each stake area with a philips head The bezel material is ABS and super glue works well on this plastic, I also used JB weld along the edges too.
good luck, Richard
sorry, I got carried away on this reply.
