I feel like a wet fart makes a more appealing sound than these cars without mufflers.
To each their own I suppose. One man's fart is another man's symphony.

are you trying to make it sound better or gain performance?

Sound:
you are never going to get it to sound like a V8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and will only get it to make sound you don't want.
performance: NO unless you do down pipes you will get minimal gains.
best is a 3 bar map and E30 tune if you have e85 close at hand. next is a 93 tune then a 91 tune.

I prefer stock, no sound until you hear the air come out of the guy next to you at the "street light grandpre "

Then way are you curious about?
If you have seen videos, then you know it sounds terrible.
If you searched for even 1 minute on here you would know its useless perfomance wise. Its well known/documented that the only gains to be had are from replacing the down pipes. The rest of the exhaust is a waste of time and money.

What everyone else said. Imo the best sound is stock exhaust and catless downpipes. Makes it slightly louder and you actually get benefits from it.

With cats? Or without?
Didnt quote me but I'll put in 2 cents. Catted dps barely change the sound but add some turbo whistle. Catless will make it a bit deeper and more turbo whistle.

The cats part is more of a where you live/inspections thing.
Catless makes a bigger difference power wise (so its said, I dont know if there are numbers to back that up, makes sense though). Catted though will lass inspection so if you have to be inspected you pretty much have to go with catted.

Here is a video of my 2011 SHO with just muffler deletes, left the resonators and cats on. however going to be putting on some Corsa mufflers once I get my catless downpipes, but it sounds good in the meantime IMO

Nope, I'm going to quote you on this...

Catted DPs with factory cat back is (in my opinion) the best combination for sound out of these cars.

Once you start swapping/eliminating mufflers (or the 3rd cat), you either end up with an annoying drone, or the typical 'ricer' sound.

If you're still prone on wanting to waste money for some sound fluff, the MRT axel-back exhaust after catted downpipes is by far your best option. Personally, I'd still stick with the OEM cat back (with catted downpipes) to complete the 'sleeper' look.

Anyone feel like doing this for me pro bono? I supply the car, you supply the rest.

You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.

That is exactly the set up I am rolling here in a couple of wees.
