1) Does anybody sell 5 qt. jugs of Motorcraft synth. blend 5w-30?
An on-line bulk vendor suggested I go to the dealer. I laughed.
2) Last couple of weeks I've been getting a minor ticking coming from the left side of motor upon starting. After about 20 seconds, it's gone. Yes, I'm welded. I was thinking of adding a smidge of coolant (haven't checked levels yet) but thought I'd run it by the gurus.

Thanks

(qr code attached)

This is actually cheaper than Amazon's price, even after shipping, but I still think it can be had for less. This vendor is just a couple hours from me, so paying $24+ in shipping kinda sucks, even though it's still less than Amazon's price.

Walmart sells the 5w20 in 5qt jug. All of the ones around me stopped carrying it in 5w30 at some point. They still have it by the quart though, at a little over $4 per.

It's funny. I just used 5w-20 the last oil change and was doing a little research on -20 vs. -30. One blog had a comment from a "Long-time Ford engineer" who had analyzed "hundreds" of motors on the basis of varying oil properties' effect. He was strongly opposed to using the -20 in these cars, saying that a slight gain in fuel efficiency was not worth it. I wanted so badly to ask if he had a hand in designing our cam shafts.
