Meth consumption

Just wondering what’s everyone’s methonal consumption like? I’m currently running the AEM V3 kit w/ a single nozzle & their 250cc jet having it start at 7psi & full on at 14psi. I filled my 1.15 gallon tank and reset my odometer and only got somewhere around 200 some miles before I got a low fluid notification. I do admit I’m pretty heavy footed when I drive but still, didn’t expect it to take so much.

I bet you have a leak in the system. Meth is hard to find because of the evaporative properties. Check all of the fitting and O rings.

You consume a lot of under boost. If it’s leaking it would be either the tank or fittings. Most common with AEM is the nozzle. Pop the hood and hit the test button. Have someone looking to see if nozzle is leaking.

Are you mixing or using pure methanol.

Yeah I checked for leaks and nada. My engine bay is pretty spotless as is my undercarriage so it would be pretty noticeable, or so I'd think. I'll check again I guess. As for the nozzle, yeah I've been somewhat paranoid on how long it would last. I added the additional AEM injection solenoid so don't got to worry too much about it feeding itself when it shouldn't.

I'm running Snow Performance Boost Juice.

250cc sounds extremely tiny. I know size isn’t everything but I’ve never ran less than 1500cc and 100% meth. And I’ve had extremely great results with that amount and Alky Control for the pump/controller/nozzle. Anyone can literally say ok I want meth and run my exact same setup and get the exact same amazing results. Alky control, M15 nozzle, 100% meth with check valves = success.

I’m not sure how much this will consume but 2.0 GPH nozzles (196cc) per cylinder and 1000cc pre tb. D6414C5F 5B9C 41A2 848E 89430DBCFB00
Per cylinder is ensuring even distribution and wanting to keep at least 1000cc pre throttle body is where the major drop in IAT2 temps will be from and the majority of the power gain, not from 196cc direct port. So if you add direct port that’s just icing on top, still need the cake…keep pre TB potent.

Yeah I'm honestly only running a 250cc jet as instructed from Matt @ GH. He stated that for my setup spraying meth isn't really necessary so hearing how big of jet you have & how much you use, really makes me question things, aha. Maybe he doesn't want me yeeting a rod through the block. We'll see.

Not sure but I don’t know how running what I did would hurt. Granted I never ran less than 1500cc from 2018 to 2020 and then threw upgraded turbos and as much as a 100 shot and still never yeeted the motor or the trans. So I’m clueless on what his concerns would be…if any…on running more than 250cc haha

I’m not 100 pct sure your setup but you can bog down your engine with too much meth. When I was I was running a 1000cc jet with the AEM I had it set for 6 and 24.

The Alky system really bogged my car down with too much meth in the beginning and I’m still not convinced I have it just right.

I can say with certainty that when I was data logging with Matt last fall he kept telling me I had pump problems. I kept having nozzles blow out so I thought I knew better.. If I had listened sooner I would have ran a 10.9 last fall maybe ‍♂️ Because I didn’t get my Alky system setup until it was already hot AF outside this year.

After using both the Alky system itself has so much control that the nozzles between ALKY and AEM are kind of apples to oranges imo. The Alky system can do so much more with less imo. I 100 agree that meth is great for the Ecoboost though! Just keep an eye on your system :)

I have the aem also is yours tapped into the windshield fluid tank?
