Metal strut mount

Ok, so we ordered some strut mounts from rockauto.. they look right, mount right etc.. but the problem we noticed is there is NO rubber etc.. just metal.. here are some pix.. My question is this... what do we need to do to get these mounts to work correctly or are these mounts garbage..?

looks like it needs spring mounts. If not, they'll probably be noisy as ****.

Doesn't the spring compress into the rubber to keep it from moving around and making alot of noise? First I've seen of this type. That's the only thing I hate about using shipping suppliers like RA. PITA to return stuff and get replacements.

Are you asking about both mounts in the top picture, or just the one on the right? And in the second picture, that's a front strut assembly, right? Got the p/n that you ordered? I think I know what's missing, but I'm a little confused with what you're asking about. Still a little hungover from the NESHOC party.

No, those are BOTH rear mounts. The ones with all the rubber are the ones that were one there and the ones I ordered from advance.. but the ones on the right (metal) were ordered from rock auto.

In that case, it sounds like they sent you the wrong one. That looks like a front mount that's missing the rubber ring around the center. All the rear mounts I've seen looked like the one on the left.

I would not use that mount.

The mount on the left is found on 91-95 SHO. The mount on the right is found on 89-90 SHO. You are missing a piece like you mentioned. Order this from ROCKAUTO for the 89-90 mount and you will be good to go!

We did order it from rock auto.. The funny thing is, on the 90 we took these off of it had toe mounts on the left..
