If you look around, you'll find many have the Magnaflow exhaust. It's a good kit that sounds great.

Go to youtube and use "magnaflow taurus sho" as search words.

I've had magnaflow on a few cars and have always been happy. My only complaint about the one for this platform is that it doesn't remove the third cat. You have to cut your stock exhaust for the install.

That has me looking at the Stainless Works kit instead.

$1,400? It's about $1,100 at the most Online at numerous sites. Regardless, I'm having my local exhaust shop install cat back and I'm just buying the magnaflow mufflers and he's only charging me $600 for everything! These kits are a rip-off in my opinion! Just buy the mufflers and have an exhaust shop do the rest.

Only changing the mufflers leaves you with the stock resonator and 2.25" piping. Aftermarket complete kits replace the resonator and move up to 2.5" piping which also matches the diameter of aftermarker down pipes.

Not disagreeing about the price being high. Merely saying that it is somewhat justified.

No,no! Re-read my post - it's Cat Back! All exhaust shops obviously have different size pipes and they simply cut off the resonator.

Sorry, I misread. Here's the huge question then...can the exhaust shop do mandrel bends and is that price for stainless?

To each their own, but I would not want aluminized tubing OR crush bent piping.

You might have a point bc I'm sure about "all exhaust shops." But the guy I use also has a race team and state-of-the-art facilities and of course uses the best of everything like stainless and a mandrel machine. I guess people should shop around first - I just hate seeing people spend over $1k on a kit then pay who knows how much on labor.

Only reason I would do the kit is because the exhaust shop in town is rip off and only uses aluminized steal and crushed bends. I like the idea of the X pipe as well as the kit but does the X pipe cause drone at all? Also the 1400 is list price. The Web site I get to look at is the same one mechanics use for pricing shows labor and up sale cost. They are getting 300-400 over their cost at 1000 bucks! I'm pretty handy and have no dought I can tackle this not will to pay someone else to do bolt-ons ya know

Agreed! Should be an easy install. Other than needing to cut the factory exhaust for the Magnaflow kit :(
