I believe RI-SHO is happy with his KYB struts, but he has the Sho Shop linear springs, opposed to Intrax and Eibach, which are progressive. I'm not sure as to what the difference is.

You will want to go for a strut with stiffer valving when going to a higher rate spring, period. It doesn't depend on progressive/linear, it depends on being able to damp a given spring rate. Running factory or factory-duplicate struts with SS Linear or Intrax or Eibach springs is not optimum - you'll be cheating yourself in terms of performance and ride.

Go with the Konis or Tokicos.

Warning....
If you like to do the job twice and spend extra money put the KYB's on. KYB's are a good factory replacement, but not a good choice when used with aftermarket springs.

Why? does anyone have info to back this up? Reading Summit KYB's are said to be equal to Eibach's spring rate. I just wanna know the reasoning behind this accusation.

People have tried the KYBs with higher rate springs with no success (unless you like a bouncy ride).

Search the shotimes archives.

SmOkE93SHO,
People are asked on the board what we think, we're just trying to save memebers from kicking themselves when it doesn't work out like the manufactor (in this case KYB) says it should. I have no facts or specs, I've just known SHO people that have later removed the KYB's because they were disatisfied with the ride. You can pay a little extra now to get a guaranteed satisifing strut or pay more later when you remove the KYB's. I really don't care I would just reccommend the koni's or tokico's.
