I have looked at the forum AZ Club news several times over the past 6 months or so to try and stay up on things. I wasn't able to make it to the Pavillions last time but am looking forward to some regular get togethers now that things have cooled down. I haven't had as much time as I would have liked to work on my buggy. Lots of little stuff. I am having a piece of 1 1/2" tubing bent that will go behind the seats to attach the shoulder harnesses to and very soon will be working on a permanent fuel tank setup. I just started helping a buddy of mine put a 1989 SHO motor in a Bronco 2 frame. This will be 4 wheel drive and resemble a 30s style Ford truck. He has the motor connected to a Bronco atx and transfer case using a 3.0L Windstar bellhousing. Hopefully my memory of what I learned from Tom in setting up my motor will be helpful. I have been waiting to cover up my wiring to be able to help him with his. I also just get a spare motor for myself and will have a few items I won't need including a mtx that I would like to get rid of with any monies going to the AZ group and the SHOforum.

I do appreciate the help everybody has given me and look forward to some future meetings where I can try to give some back. The more notice I have for a meeting the better chance I have of getting there.

Long time no hear. So the SHO buggy is running okay still? Send some pics of your buddy's FrankenSHO creation as you build it.

A SHO engine on a Bronco II frame sounds interesting to me. Is there a possiblilty that the SHO engine would fit in a 1984 Ford Ranger 4x4 without major problems? I have one of those trucks with the very under powered 2.8 carb. V6 engine. The truck is great off road, but on the highway it is a real dog. I know that there are ones with the small block Ford V8, but the SHO engine sounds like a better choice.

Tom, do you have any thoughts on this? The Garage Queen is waiting for the next southern Arizona SHO get together. It has been a long time since anyone has seen this car and I wanted to make sure that everyone knew that it was still around.

03 Copper,

I forgot your first name, is it Jim? Yes I think that would be great to put an SHO motor in a Ranger. You would have to rotate the intake around and divert the rear coolant line to the radiator, but I think that would haul ass. I'm working on a new intake for the SHO that delets the snakes and gives you a nice mounting place for a Roots or Lysolm style blower. It will automatically correct the wrong way air intake for North/South installations.

Tom, you got the name right, it is Jim. I think the small Ranger trucks need more power, but a 302 V8 might be more than is necessary. The SHO engine would double the power of the 2.8L V6 and still get good gas mileage. This might be something for me to think about as a future project.

The Garage Queen still looks as good as every and only is taken and out and driven to keep everything working.

Yes the SHO motor is running great. I have done a bunch of little things including getting the suspension kinda close to dialed in. I have DOT approved headlights, taillights and brake. I want to get it street legal ASAP. Windshield after permanent fuel tank. I will send a picture of FrankenSHO but I don't know how to attach or send a picture.

I'm looking forward to SHOing up in Phoenix for a get together!
