You almost can't tell what the heck you are looking at.

I still don't understand why people have a hard time determining whether the car has a rod shifter or not. The EASIEST way to tell if it has a rod shifter is to look under the car...

easiest way for me to tell is that the shifter boot in the cable cars takes up the whole space in the console. the rod shifter cars are more towards the driver and only about 2/3's the size in the console.

The shifter from the rod shifter has a two bends angling it towards the driver.
