Pick up 2 jugs of yellow from Ford.

You dont need to drain coolant to change out intercooler, but most dont realize that till after they finish the intercooler install.

The two ways that I’ve seen it they either go front the front and take the cross bar out or take the rad at either the cooler

Taking the cross car out is definitely the easiest way of you're wondering lol. I've done it both ways at this point as I made the video for GH. Pulling out the top is the recommended way from ford but the removal of the cross car is definitely the way I suggest doing it.

I seen a video that the had to grind down the welds. But said that is was that much and that the bar is mainly held on by the bolts. Did you have to do that ?

I just broke them with a flat head and a mallet. The bar itself is held in by 8 13mm bolts (4 each side) you undo those and break the weld on one side then just bend it out the way. It's just some tiny tabs and just Google GH intercooler install video and it'll show up probably.

Careful with seating it back to the radiator as you can break off the retaining parts of the radiator. I was lucky it didn't go through and cost me a new radiator.

No I went the other side. I can see the xbar being the way to go but when I hit the welds I stopped. Didn't know how many or the ease of just parting them. The worst part of the other side is getting to FN cooling fans out!

Through the front is definitely the way to go. I just hit the spot welds with a grinder. It seems like a ton more to remove but the access you have is well worth it.
Later, I had to take just the fans out just to change the alternator and it was a pain in the D.
