Insideline 2010 Taurus SLO vs Honda Accord

I'd consider these two cars on equal terms, yeah the Accord is branded as a Fusion/Camry competitor but it's the biggest in that group and fairly pricy. Maybe the Accord V6 vs Taurus Limited are pretty close comparisons!

watched the video instead. And based on the video, the Accord beat the Taurus SOLELY because it was smaller and more lightweight which gave it better performance times. I was unaware that run of the mill full size sedans were meant to be driven as 2 door sports cars.


Anyone see the Accord's front seats? I've seen more cushion on prison toilet seats.

The front seats on the Accord are fine. Even my large-ass rear end finds them comfortable.

Just because the Accord was faster, and more nimble, doesn't mean even it handles like a sports car. Buyers do look at performance data even if it isn't top priority; this includes handling, braking and acceleration. However I think the Taurus did a pretty good job against the Accord considering it is the favorite of the class.

Just a general question to those that constantly knock the testers of the new Taurus/SHO.......what do you guys expect? Do you expect it to win every test, and be the 1986 Taurus all over again? Do you expect them to be as fanatical as you are?

Considering the competition for a family sedan is CRAZY stiff, I think the new Taurus has been getting pretty good reviews. Price though, has been mentioned in almost every test. It is considerably larger than the Camry/Accord/Fusion, and it still can hold its own against them. Pretty good if you ask me. And it is high content (if you pony up the cash).

Yes I did. I was unaware that the 89-99 (more specific: 89-95) SHO was a run of the mill sedan. IMO, everything north of the dash board is far, FAR from "every day grocery getter."

This is a disappointment, after sitting in one at the factory last week, I cannot fit in the drivers seat inless it is a base model with no moonroof or the optional seats, which do not adjust down very far. Since every SHO is built to order, Ford should allow the customer to select whatever options they want without having to order a package.

So your telling me that an Accord has more interior front seat room than the new Taurus? Awesome. Being 6'6" I have been shafted by American car companies that can NOT make a car for me to fit in (besides full size trucks/Suvs).

Whats ridiculous is that I own a VW GTI, and it is the biggest car I have ever owned. More front seat room in every dimension than my moms trailblazer, my brothers old Dodge ram, mine and my dads A4's and S4's.......you name it, its probably bigger than.

I will wait until I have sat in the car to determine how much or if any fail was used in designing the new Taurus. I have heard reports of the new Camaro being too small for anyone over 5'10".........I fit comfortably, enough to own one.

lol awesome. A car that big not being able to comfortably fit someone as tall as us is ********. How can they use the space that inefficiently?
