Help Needed Clogged DPFE line *Pics inside* DPFE questions

I had the intake off for some good cleaning and noticed that the piece below had a clogged vaccum line.

1.) My question is can i just clean it by spraying intake cleaner in there or will it hurt the electronics?

2.) Why is it clogged?

3.) Since it is clogged is there another area I need to check for blockage?

And is there anything else I need to look for now that I have found this?

I am not entirely sure what this piece even does.

It is located on the drivers side near the firewall.

I am pretty new to this car and have owned other Taurus's, SVt's, and Supras but not a SHO. Any pointers on this subject is appreciated.

That is the DPFE sensor.

With it plugged, you most likely have a CEL with a 332 code.

I'd suggest replacing the sensor. About $50-55 bucks.

The blockage is an accumulation of stuff from the exhaust gasses.

With it being plugged should I check the lines that lead to it or other areas or does it tend to only acumulate in the dpfe unit itself?

I would check the bottom two holes on your intake (Part of the EGR system). They tend to clog up too.

Here is a pic of mine before they were cleaned.
