Since the day i got my license 7 years ago, i have been in love with these cars. My very first one was when i was 18, an 89 white with mocha interior. I picked it up at the junkyard with 130,000 for $600 with a rod knock. :woohoo:Brought it home began the strip down and repair but unfortunately, i got a strip of bad luck with mono and was fired from my job and needed money so sad to say the sho went

Another 2 years later at the same junkyard, i bought a 93 mtx black with mocha interior with 110,000 that had body damage and a weak clutch. Paid $600 cash and took it home with me. :woohoo: The body damaged included :booboo:a softball sized hole in the rear bumper, a crushed hood, dented fender, broken headlight and a slight lack of clearcoat on the roof and trunk. So before i began the body work i pulled the engine to service it and the weak clutch. I really didn't know about all the great aftermarket stuff available for the car so i bit it pretty hard for parts through my local napa and autovalue
The expenses for the engine/drivetrain as soon as i got the car, all this work was performed withing the first 2 weeks
1. $350 clutch from napa
2. $50 timing belt autovalue
3. Nobody aftermarket made spark plug tube well seals, motorcraft charged me $27 for each one for $162
4. valve cover gaskets $80 ford
5. $90 radiator rockauto
6. $140 for ball joints napa
7. front and rear main seals with oil pan gasket rockauto $60
8. Spark plug wires $30 rockauto ac delco( now there like $95) why is that?

Great!! :woohoo:The engine work was done, so now lets move onto the body
1. Hood $289
2. Fender $110
3. Headlights $274
4. corner lamps $40
5. Fog lights $90
6. Spoiler $60
7. header panel $25
8. All the paint supplies and i mean everything from tape to color $550
I PAINTED THE WHOLE CAR!!!!!!

Car just got out of the paint shop for 5 days and i drove it :woohoo:for like 200 miles grand total, and some douche bag backed up right, into my car wrecking my front bumper, hood, driver side fender and headlight and deployed my bags :madflame:
that was the breaking point on that car, after all that time and money invested in it, i took the insurance check for $ 17xx and ran and sold it to some guy i worked with and just put a bra over it
so after after *** amount of hours and with an approximate grand total of close to $3000 i got $2600 back which totally sucked

While i was getting my mtx painted i found a 93atx white with mocha, with a tranny that didn't have overdrive, for $1000 that had 120,000. I couldn't pass it up, i figured i would do that one as soon as my mtx was done being painted. I only had one thing go wrong with that carand that was the alternator. I never got around to ever fixing the tranny and it lasted for 30,000 more to the mark of 150,000, I only had one thing go wrong with that car besides the already dead tranny and that was the alternator. it could have probably lasted a little longer if i hadn't gutted it out for my most recent and sad to say the last SHO i have owned in the past year and a half

My last car was a 92mtx green with mocha, that was sitting by its lonesome self in the back of a dealer lot. It was super nice but it had 155,000 and the owner who traded it in just had over $4400 worth of work done to it with the receits. The work included, a new clutch, fuel pump, ignition switch, alternator, battery, water pump and srank sensor. It "needed" a new abs modulator and they quoted him at like $900 bucks so he said enough was enough and traded it in. I negoatiated with them down to $450 when they originally wanted $600. I took the car home and came to the conclusion that both rear calipers were frozen, so i took the rear calipers off my 93atx and the car was cured. Now tell me something, how does the dealer come off telling a person needs a abs modulator and the only problem was froze calipers? No problems with it ever in the year i owned it, not a one!!!! it was my DD and i pouned the **** out of it everyday becuz i got it so cheap. These motors can sure take a beating. A "friend" of mine really wanted to buy my car for her 16 year old son and offered me $800 for it and i didn't hesitate. Unfortunately, 1 week after i sold it, it threw a rod through the side of the oil pan and literally busted half the starter off and she came back at me saying that her mechanic told her that it appeared someone was putting in 80w in for oil. What nerve she had!

I am just so happy that i have come across this website, its funny, i haven't come across this website ever in the last 4 years, i believe i seen it mentioned in automotiveforums.com

Sorry this intro is extremely long, but i just wanted everyone to know that my love for the sho is everlasting, and that i feel that i am very knowledgable in them and that i am willing to provide positive and helpful information whenever and where ever

welcome to the forum, good looking SHO. Black SHO's are the best!

Yes, if you enjoy washing it everyday and being obsessed over the light coating of road dust building up on it that you and only you can see. Aside from that, yes, I loved my black on black MTX.
