They allow you to adjust the rear for when you have lowering springs.

They will help with handling.

You need the SHONut reducer kit. They can be found on 97+ GTP, Aleros etc... (W Body) GMParts DIrect.

SHOBros should have a design for around $350 that will be a direct bolt on and be about as good as the BMRs.

I dont want to rain on the SHObros parade, As I really like what they've been doing with the store...But you can obtain these from people on www.clubgp.com

Thats a W-body website.. So post in the WTB section. Also rember that you need FOUR of the adjustable arms, that would need to come off of 2 cars.

Or....

There are the Original Aluminum Control Arms from us.

http://fordspecialists.com/images/rearcontrolarms.jpg

We start with 6061 T-6 511 sluminum bar stock, then machine each arm to the right specs. We use high strength teflon lined heim jonts and all greade 8 hardware. You get full adjustability and control, with much better handling and no added noise (NVH). $400 gets the entire kit designed for the SHO.

how stiff are they going to be, I was always worried abtou aftermarket ones being stiff. Reason being is if you slid into a curb the stok ones bend to save the frame and i was worried the aftermarkets wont.

Well, lots of vendor replies so far, and, expectedly, each vendor knows their solution to be superior to the others.

There've been a number of threads on this and there are a number of options.

A couple of the vendors used to offer kits made from the stock GTP arms already kitted for the SHO application, but that doesn't look to be available any more (that I can find at the moment). A trip to a junkyard, or a GM parts supplier still makes that a good option. SHOnut still sells the sleeve kits to make this easier. This is arguably the least expensive route to getting adjustable arms on a SHO. The stock GTP arms have compliant bushings (rubber, I assume), and the adjuster and locknuts are mounted close to one end, so they can be accessed easily during alignments.

BMR has the GTP aftermarket arms, which you can get from them and use SHOnut's sleeve kits or just request them with the appropriate bushing diameter (which they've done in the past at no extra cost). I have two sets of these (one on the silver car and one on the Pumpkin) and am quite happy with them. They have greasable poly bushings at both ends and the adjusters and lock nuts are mounted close to one end.

FPS has the already mentioned their aluminum arms. Some folks that have installed these like them, they're plenty strong and will work well. Potential downsides: the Heim joints are subject to corrosion in rust belt areas, the cast iron rear spindles and the torque box need to be drilled out to accomodate the 1/2" hardware used on these, and on each arm one of the locknuts is near the torque box. If you do adjustments with the car on the ground you'll need _really_ long arms to access these.

Long ago TCE used to make adjustable arms that are considered by some to be the best. Todd hasn't made these for years and keeps swearing that he's not going to make any more, so this is only an option if you can find a used set for sale, which doesn't happen very often.

SHObros has already indicated that they'll have something available, but until they do the above is what you get to pick from.

No 7075...Pshhhh.

Im kidding.

But in all seriousness adjustable rear arms are a MUST on these cars, Otherwise camber in non-adjustable. Only a toe adjustment can be made on these cars.

After lowering my car, I am really in need of adjustable rear arms...But I do love the look of 2ish degress of negative camber.

...how bout camber adjustments on the front...

Sorry...not trying to hijack.....just know jack shit about suspension setups.

And I can vouch for FPS's parts. I've seen em in the proccess of being made, and I've seen em mounted on a car. Quite a stout piece, and from what I've been told by others, an excellent buy. :thumb:

*edit: No, doug ain't paying me to say that......just my observations.

I have a full set of new TCE arms sitting on the shelf. I'll probably be using some GTP arms when I get around to installing my rear 11.6s and knuckle braces though.

The GM arms should arguably be the best for NVH since they have the most compliant bushings (I think better than the stock SHO arms)!
