I'm planning on replacing my fan motor this weekend however, I have been told that it can be a real pain. I've got a 93 mtx with the usual amount of rust underneath.

Would it be in my best interest to pay a shop to do it for $60. or I'm I better off going for it?

My fear is that the fan blades are stuck, and $60. isn't all that bad.
Please let me know your thoughts.

It's not especially hard to remove and replace the fan. Separating the fan from the blade will be the real challange, if you're replacing just the motor, and not the assembly.

If you are just replacing the motor, may I ask where you got it? I was looking for one for my car, and everywhere I went kept giving me the motor for the 3.0L Vulcan and not the SHO. I ended up going to a salvage yard in Brooklyn to get it Of course I found someone who sells them new after the fact. Ain't that some :hpoop:

Racer X, I got it on ebay. $13.95 + shipping.

My only concern is the removing the fan from the blade......I am aware these do crack and or break often during motor replacement.
