You really can't put an exact time on it. I drive differnly than you. How many times that strut has compressed and extended, how the oil has held up, the seals can vary from person to person.

My O.C.D says 100k if not sooner indicated by a failure of the others.

How timely! At 103,000 I was wondering the exact same thing. I plan to replace them next spring.
Also, I'd assume the fronts wear quicker unless a person carries lots of weight in the trunk.

It is a shame that the choices are so limited for the struts and shocks on the SHO. Even my wife's 2012 XC90 has a better selection including Bilstein.

So true, I have been searching for a great set of shocks/struts something with performance in mind and they don't exist. There may be a performance shock company that makes some general purpose performance shocks that might work but NOTHING built for the Taurus platform, IF anyone runs across or comes up with something let us all know. One day I want to replace the springs an it would be nice to have some performance shocks to go along with them, the coil overs are more then I want to bite off. Have a great day all.
