I heard there are 3, maybe 4 of them. I know 1 is under the throttle body, but where are the others? I got a code 116, does this specify just one of the sensors or all 3 (4)?

Thanks guys.

Keep in mind that, if the engine isn't up to operating temperature when doing the EEC self test, then you will get a 116 code even though there is nothing wrong with the ECT.

The ECT is the two wire sensor located adjacent to the T-stat housing.

There is another similar-looking sensor in the same area which has only one wire coming out of it, that's for the temperature gauge in the instrument panel.

There's only one that goes by ECT, and it is located under the throttle body, toward the firewall and you will need a 1" deep socket to remove it. The other sensor people get confused with, is the one behind the coil pack which sends signal to the instrument cluster guage.
