I have a door panel that I was going to replace because the hard plastic where the screw in the middle of the panel fastens to the metal of the door cracked and broke and that screw won't hold anymore. Basically the main mounting point for pressure when you pull the door closed.

It looks like the off-white hard plastic that runs through the door handle/arm rest area might be able to be removed or replaced. Anyone ever try this? I have another panel that I was going to just replace it with but it got damaged in shipping but the hard plastic part is in good shape. Wondering if I can combine parts.

Don't know about swapping parts on the door panel, but it sounds like you should be able to.
I would install the damaged one for now and fix the original. I would use an epoxy to bond some reinforcement to the back side of the panel where your screw does its work. It should be hidden from view that way. If the repair is not hidden from view (like a big crack), then go back to your first idea.
